Who We Are
Hi there! I’m Mina, the blogger/kitchen storyteller here at this cosy little corner of the internet. What do I do here? I’m a primary school teacher by day (so I’m used to making sure things are simple and fun) and I write and cook by night. Behind the scenes is my incredible husband Moha – my biggest supporter, official taster and tech guy who keeps the blog up and running nice and smoothly!
This blog is a young one and it’s already become such a cheerful part of my life. I do not want to pigeon hole myself, but I cater the real life food for real life people.
Whether you’re trying to find delicious dishes that healthy cooks will enjoy or a healthier version of comfort food, you’re in the right place.
Are you a mind-reader?! Thanks for swinging by, pull up a chair, and stay awhile!
The Beginings
I didn’t seriously try to cook until 2015 — before that, you could call me a “reheat and pray” kind of gal (and my oven was more like a shelf to store pans on). Baking? Oh, that came later. And you know what, I was a kitchen klutz before that. I’m talking scorched rice, flat cakes, and waaaaaay too much instant coffee for the duration of your natural life!
What kicked it all off? I was just so tired of arriving at parties with store-bought sweets that weren’t me.” So I did homemade — the easy things first, the cookies made from boxed cake mixes (those magic little time-savers!). And guess what? I found out not only could I bake, but I loved it.
Moha (my husband) was all in, too, yelling encouragement, washing a million dish and taste-testing like a boss.
Flash forward and I am super obsessed. I’ve turned to cooking and baking as my love language. And sharing that here with you? Just the cherry on top.
The Cocotte Girl
Well if you are wondering how i came up with this name? let me just tell you that it was just so random! one day i was arguing with my husband about a small piece that needed to be repaired in my cocotte (pressure cooker) and when my husband got back home with that genuine replacement part, and he was under the shower, when he got off, he immediately told me that he hand an idea under that hot water inside! and you guessed it, It was The Cocotte Girl!! and that moment he told me that we should name your blog like that, because i love so much my pressure cooker and i used it very frequently!
